This two part headstall pad designed to relieve pressure on the nuchal ligament, eliminate pressure at the top of the neck, and provide optimal comfort for your horse. Thanks to its two adjustable parts, it adapts to all headstalls: halters, classic bridles, anatomical bridles, side-pulls, double bridles, etc.

Why use it?

  • It relieves pressure at the top of the neck.
  • It allows you to improve the ergonomics and comfort of your existing equipment.
  • He quickly settles into the headrest.

🚀 Adjustment steps

Step 1 – Prepare the horse

  1. Groom your horse as usual.
  2. Move the headstall of the tie halter back slightly to free up your horse's neck.
  3. Grab the neck pad, locate the central adjustment strap.

Step 2 – Position the lower part

  1. Adjust the spacing between the two parts of the neck pad using the central strap.
  2. Objective: the lower edge of the neck pad should reach the level of the bottom of the ear , symmetrically on both sides.

Step 3 – Adapt the bridle (or other headpiece)

  1. On your bridle, increase the size of each bit and noseband by two holes .
  2. This small extension creates the necessary space to accommodate the neck pad without compressing the horse's head.

Step 4 – Attach the neck pad

  1. Open the hook and loop fasteners located on each side of the neck pad.
  2. Close them around the headrest, making sure to center the device.

Step 5 – Harness and check

  1. Harness your horse normally.
  2. Check the centering of the pad: it must remain aligned with the middle of the neck.
  3. If necessary, readjust the spacing of the two parts (step 2) then correct the length of the bit/noseband cheekpieces.

Step 6 – Adjust the ear drainage curve

  1. Your neck pad should neither block the ear nor exert pressure; it should conform to its natural curve.
  2. Method :
    • Wrap the hook part of the hook and loop fastener around the headrest.
    • Pull the flexible part of the band backwards until you achieve the desired clearance.
    • Repeat the operation for the upper and lower passage , on each side.
  3. Slight creases may appear above the neck pad, but the surface in contact with the horse will remain smooth . This mounting also helps to lock the pad in position and prevent any slippage.

Step 7 – On horseback!

  • Mount your horse and observe its behavior.
  • Check that the neck pad remains stable during movement and that the ears remain free.
  • The headstall pad will adapt to your horse's conformation; this is especially true for the wool model, which will require two or three uses for the wool to distribute perfectly. Remember to check your cheekpiece adjustments regularly during the first few sessions.
